About Opticampare and how we compare prices
Who runs this site
Opticampare is run by Azita Khorshad, based in Denmark. Contact: hello@opticampare.com. We are not an optician and we sell nothing ourselves.
Where the prices come from
Prices are read automatically from each shop's own public product pages and from product feeds supplied by the shops through their affiliate programmes. Nothing is typed in by hand, and nothing is estimated.
How often we check
An automatic job runs every two hours and refreshes a batch of shops, so every shop is re-checked several times a day. The contact lens page shows when the prices for your country were last updated. If a shop has not refreshed recently, treat its price as indicative.
What the total includes
For contact lenses we show the shop's listed price for the exact product and pack size, multiplied by the number of boxes you choose, plus standard shipping where the shop publishes it and free-shipping thresholds where they apply. Taxes are included where the shop lists prices inclusive of tax, which is normal in the EU. Discount codes, subscriptions, rebates and prescription-verification requirements are not included, so the checkout total can differ.
Glasses are different
Glasses shops calculate lens prices from your prescription inside their own checkout, so no published figure exists for a finished pair. For glasses we show a starting price and mark lens upgrades as priced from your prescription. We would rather show a starting price than invent an exact one.
How results are ordered
By total price for the quantity you selected, cheapest first. Commission plays no part in the ordering. We do not sell placement.
Which shops we include
Shops that publish prices publicly, ship to the country shown, and sell genuine manufacturer-packaged lenses. When a shop blocks automated access or its prices cannot be read reliably, we leave it out rather than guess.
When something looks wrong
If a price here does not match the shop, email hello@opticampare.com with the product and country and we will check it. Corrections are worth more to us than traffic.
Not medical advice
We compare prices only. Buy the exact brand, power, base curve and diameter your optician prescribed, and have your eyes checked regularly.
